With immediate effect, the Chinese Customs Authorities have
reinforced regulations which will apply to all import and export shipments to
and from China.
§ Except for documents, all other shipments require an Importer/ Exporter Customs Registration Code (a 10-digit customs code) to be provided by the importer or exporter for customs declaration. In the absence of a Customs registered code, EZ Worldwide Express can engage a registered agent authorized to act as the importer or exporter for your shipments.
The reinforced regulation takes effect on all shipments, except for documents. The appropriate customs duty, VAT and tax may be charged by Chinese Customs. This includes samples and advertising articles valued at RMB 400 and below, which were previously duty-exempted, but are now taxable.
§ Our contacts have informed us that Chinese Customs will force all shipments 5 kgs and heavier to High Value Clearance. Packages 5 kgs and heavier will be subject to Duties & Taxes and separate paperwork needs to be filed with Chinese Customs. There will be a Document Processing cost, determined by the extent of filing by Chinese Customs.
§ The Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System (HS) code for your contents must appear on the commercial invoice along with the 10 digit Customs Registration Code.
§ Should your recipient not have a 10 Digit Customs Registration Code you may still appoint an outside agent to assist you, or you may allow EZ Worldwide Express to handle satisfaction of this requirement through our preferred local partner. If handled through EZ Worldwide Express, this process has a $25 fee.
§ Please inform your overseas or inland customers to provide EZ WORLDWIDE EXPRESS with accurate and detailed commodity description, ensuring further HS classification and confirmation to speed up clearance process.
§ For those declaring samples and advertising articles of no commercial value, Customs will implement rigorous examination and 100% physical inspection.
